The writer Édouard Louis, one of the young French intellectuals most involved in the social and political sphere, at the age of twenty-one became an international literary case with the autobiographical novel “The End of Eddy” – published by Farrar Straus & Giroux – about growing up amid poverty and homophobia in rural France.
Deflorian / Tagliarini Company made a theatre adaptation of the novel “Who killed my father” – published by Harvill Secker – that will debut at VIE 2020. This novel is an act of love and denunciation that goes beyond geographical and social boundaries. A burning pamphlet on the difficult bond, perhaps impossible, with a father who rejects you and does not understand you and the profound reasons for being rejected and not understood.
