Sound soul of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, that she founded in 1981 with Romeo and Claudia Castellucci, Chiara Guidi presents Nuvole.Casa by the German writer Elfriede Jelinek, Nobel Prize for literature in 2004. In the field of the Festival Focus,  Jelinek’s Nuvole.Casa investigates each floor and each key the writer has lifted and moved to build her book: the spectators have just the task to abandon themselves to the full of meaning and sometimes obscure sentences, that come from an underground voice, as bad as the sound of the double bass which gives cohesion to the whole body of the work. A trip inside a house where, brick by brick, Jelinek provocatively rises a hymn to the sacred  German soil, reiterating the ‘we’ that, like a metronome, marks the rhythm and the flow of the human history. “Nuvole.Casa is a tale of power,” Chiara Guidi says: “ We know the victims, the horrors dictated by the emblem of cruel ‘purity’, even before reading the book. The story is known to us at first glance. Yet, in Jelinek’s book what we know takes the form of a riddle that is the promise of a change. To write her book Jelinek tears the pages out of some books and entrusts them to the rhythm of the composition. She tears out also the word of the title, which originally indicates the ‘country of milk and honey: ‘Wolkenkuckucksheim’. It excludes a part: Kuckuck, meaning cuckoo, while the first and the last  part mean clouds and house respectively. A ‘Wolkenkuckucksheim’ is the place of the imagination, but clouds and home, without the cuckoo, do not remain in harmony, but in tension. In this tension there is the expectation of a promise: the beauty of an ideal world art looks for, either by re-elaborating what really happened and by bringing it back to the strength of the concrete energy of the present,  through the disarticulation of words and gestures of memory”.
