C’mon Tigre tells Gianluigi Toccafondo is a poetic and cross-contaminated show: C’mon Tigre’s music and master Gianluigi Toccafondo’s animated shorts films, together forming a single body.
A show where the afro-jazz ensemble will mix live music performance with moments of pure visual art. C’mon Tigre will add a soundtrack to five animated short movies made by Gianluigi Toccafondo that will be projected on the big screen together with Toccafondo’s “Federation Tunisienne de Football”, a short film made by more than 5.000 hand painted frames that tells the crazy story of a barefoot football match held among giraffes and elephants.

C’mon Tigre began life in the Mediterranean basin and spread out to the corners of the world’s metropolises. The music is deeply urban soaked in the waters of the sea, waters that connect the divide between far-slung communities. C’mon Tigre talks about the fascination that Africa holds, a tale that stretches along a line from San Diego to Bombay. The name Afroamericans gave to this dirty downhome style of music was funk in reference to the body odour produced while in a state of excitation.
