These seven playwrights and sixteen actors, selected by director Antonio Latella among over 500 candidates for his Professional Training Course, have been working for five months on a project concerning the Atreides ancestry, thus investigating tragedy in its origins and limits. Santa Estasi (Holy Ecstasy), the title chosen for the project, focuses on the condition of actors who experience words, myth, archetypes, fragmentation of thought at any level. It also stands for the Erinyes’ fever affecting those who defy their own limits and destiny to define his own self. Under the direction of Antonio Latella, this special project results in one big play including eight movements, eight ‘family portraits’, that will take place for the second time after the debut in Modena (from April to June 2016) with a special marathon.
