The non-scuola (no-school) of Teatro delle Albe comes back to VIE: afterViaggio al centro della terra, the outcome of a workshop which involved the company from Ravenna and a group of twenty teenagers from San Felice sul Panaro, Teatro delle Albe brings the non-scuola to Finale Emilia, one of the most affected towns during the earthquake of 2012. Born in Ravenna in 1991, the anti-academic pedagogy of non-scuola has already reached several places in Italy and around the world, from Naples and Milan, Belgium, France, United States, Senegal, Brazil to Heresy of happiness, directed by Marco Martinelli, which debuted in New York on February, 14 2014. Last winter in San Felice sul Panaro Alessandro Argnani ran a workshop inspired to Collodi’s fairy tale: the outcome, Corri Pinocchio, debuted in February of 2014 at Teatro Tenda in Finale Emilia, where it will be performed during the tenth edition of VIE. “I arrived in San Felice sul Panaro in July of 2012, just two months after that terrible shake t”, Alessandro Argnani says “Today, after 21 months, I see a town which has been able to react. There is still a lot of work to do, but there is a new school, a new kindergarden, a new City Hall, the church has been completed, many shops have reopened and many people have gone back to their houses. Instead, the Teatro Comunale is still wrapped up, closed, unable to perform its task. Here we are to present our corri Pinocchio, the result of the second year of the non-scuola, strongly supported by Ert. We consider it as a party, as a happy feast, for the kids, for the families, and for the whole San Felice”.
non-scuola Directed by Marco Martinelli and Ermanna Montanari, Teatro delle Albe (founded in 1983) stands out in the Italian and international landscape for the radical and pataphysics visionary attitude of its scenic alchemy. In 1991 the company founds Ravenna Teatro, “Stabile Corsaro”, with a vocation both ethic and aesthetic. In that context the non-scuola (no-school) was born: it is an asinine and anti-academic pedagogy which has been spread in many places in Italy and around the world, from Scampia (Naples) to Chicago, from Lamezia Terme (Calabria) to Rio de Janeiro, from Venice to New York.
